This prize, which recognizes the creativity of inventors, has been awarded annually since 2006 in different categories: industry, research, non-EPO members, small and medium-sized enterprises and life-time achievement.<\/p>\n<p>In the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) category, Swiss researcher Madiha Derouazi is the winner, along with French researcher Elodie Belnoue and their team, for the invention &#8220;Therapeutic vaccine platform to treat cancer&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 winners for the other categories are as follows (Source EPO):<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Industry: Jaan Leis, Mati Arulepp and Anti Perkson (Estonia) \u2013 \u201cSuperior carbon-based materials for ultracapacitors\u201d;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Research: Claude Grison (France) &#8211; &#8220;Decontamination of polluted soils with metal-eating plants &#8220;;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Non EPO members: Donald Sadoway (Canada\/USA) &#8211; &#8220;Liquid metal batteries for storing renewable energy&#8221;;<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lifetime Achievement: Katalin Karik\u00f3 (Hungary\/USA) &#8211; &#8220;Modified mRNA for lifesaving vaccines and therapies&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the People&#8217;s Choice Award, selected from among the finalists based on votes from Internet users, is this year Elena Garc\u00eda Armada (Spain) for the &#8220;World&#8217;s first adaptable robotic exoskeleton for children&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It is recalled that Switzerland had already been awarded in 2021 in the research category thanks to the work of inventor Wendelin Stark (Switzerland) in tandem with Robert N.
