The 15th edition of the World Innovation Index – the global benchmark for measuring a country’s innovation performance – has been published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).<\/p>\n

The theme for 2022 was “what is the future of innovation-based growth?”.<\/p>\n

For 12 years now, Switzerland has held the leading position in this ranking, ahead of the United States (2nd in 2021) and Sweden (2nd in 2021).<\/p>\n

The European Union countries bordering Switzerland in the top 20 of the ranking are respectively: Germany 8th (10th in 2021), France 12th (11th in 2021), Austria 17th (18th in 2021).<\/p>\n
