The World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) “Global Awards” program, created in 2022, is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in WIPO’s 193 member states. The evaluation criteria are based primarily on “knowledge of intellectual property rights to achieve business objectives”<\/em>, on “the SME’s current or potential impact on the economy, society or culture”<\/em>, and on an approach that takes into account the diversity of the candidates – (Source: WIPO).<\/p>\n

The seven winners of the 2023 edition, selected from 25 finalists, were unveiled this Summer in Geneva :<\/p>\n

\u2022 Aerosol Magee Scientific – “design and manufacture air quality measurement instruments”<\/em> (Slovenia);
\n\u2022 Centro de Retina Medica y Quir\u00fargica (CRQM) – “nanotechnology platform for retinal drug delivery”<\/em> (Mexico);
\n\u2022 Flexxon – “cybersecurity solution based on artificial intelligence”<\/em> (Singapore);
\n\u2022 Lactips – “100% natural and fully biodegradable plastic-free plastic”<\/em>;
\n\u2022 Shanghai Westwell Technology – “intelligent and eco-friendly solutions for bulk logistics”<\/em> (China);
\n\u2022 Xi’an KissFuture Network Technologies – “augmented reality\/virtual reality technologies”<\/em> (China);
\n\u2022 YAKWETU\u2122 Online Limited – “entertainment technology”<\/em> (Kenya).<\/p>\n
