Switzerland at the top of the Global Innovation Index 2021

It is in the particular context of a severe health crisis worldwide that the 14th edition of the “Global Innovation Index” was published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in partnership with the Portulans Institute and private partners.

This global index, whose theme was “Investments in innovation are doing well despite the Covid-19 pandemic”, aims to reveal reliable data on innovation.

This year, Switzerland is still leading the ranking ahead of Sweden (2nd position), the USA (3rd) and the UK (4th).

The European Union countries bordering Switzerland positioned in the top 20 of the ranking are respectively: Germany 10th (9th in 2019), France 11th (12th in 2019), Austria 18th (19th in 2019).
