ACCESSION OF PORTUGAL TO THE GENEVA ACT OF THE LISBON ARRANGEMENT

On January 18, 2024, the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement for the International Protection of Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications will enter into force for Portugal.

Portugal’s appellations of origin and geographical indications will thus be protected internationally by a single, simpler and less costly registration in all the contracting parties to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement.

Switzerland joined the Geneva Act in 2021. https://bugnion.ch/en/switzerland-appellations-of-origin-and-geographical-indications/
