DesignEuropa 2021 : the winners revealed…

Since 2016, when the first DesignEuropa Award was held, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has awarded owners of registered designs every two years.

The DesignEuropa Award includes the categories “Industry” and “Small and Young Companies”, as well as the “Lifetime Achievement” award, which recognizes the most influential designers in the field of industrial design.

The winners for the year 2021 are respectively (Source EUIPO):

• Category “Small and young companies”: Relio2 – Professional lighting system – Designer Marco Bozzola (No. 004596096 – Application date 06.01.2018).

• Category “Industry”: Philips IntelliVue X3 – Wearable patient monitor from Koninklijke Philips N.V (no. 003541036 – Application date 26.12.2016)

Finally, this year’s winner of the “Lifetime Achievement” award was Mr. André Ricard, a Spanish industrialist born in 1929 who has notably designed the “Olympic Flame” for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
