EUROPEAN PATENT CONVENTION AND MONTENEGRO

Montenegro acceded to the European Patent Convention (EPC) on October 1, 2022. This country becomes the 39th Member State of the European Patent Organization (Source: European Patent Office (EPO) – July 27, 2022). It is recalled that Montenegro had already concluded an extension agreement with the European Patent Organization in 2009.

The European patent offers the advantage of protecting with a single application an invention in several countries, party to the European Patent Convention, or having concluded an extension agreement with the European Patent Organization.
