SWITZERLAND TOPS THE GLOBAL INNOVATION INDEX 2022

The 15th edition of the World Innovation Index – the global benchmark for measuring a country’s innovation performance – has been published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The theme for 2022 was “what is the future of innovation-based growth?”.

For 12 years now, Switzerland has held the leading position in this ranking, ahead of the United States (2nd in 2021) and Sweden (2nd in 2021).

The European Union countries bordering Switzerland in the top 20 of the ranking are respectively: Germany 8th (10th in 2021), France 12th (11th in 2021), Austria 17th (18th in 2021).
