Partial revision of the Patent Act – Message from the Federal Council dated 16.11.2022
The Swiss Federal Council wishes to bring the Federal Patent Act (Patent Act) more into line with “international standards” in order to strengthen the validity of Swiss national patents, following the example of the European patent or the national patents of many other countries, and in particular to increase its attractiveness.
The Federal Council has therefore just submitted a draft amendment to the Patent Act, which introduces, for example, a mandatory technical search by the Federal Patent Institute for each application.
